Welcome to the official Facebook and Twitter (@seemoorelit) launch of the Dissed series, by me, Cari Moore. Hopefully, most of you have come here in search of my books through the links I tweeted or posted on Facebook. You can purchase the books at one of the "necessary excesses" on the right of this page. For the first five people who message or email me and promise to review on Amazon, Facebook post, and tweet about my book, I will send you a link to receive the book free. Also, until December 25, anyone who purchases the first book will receive the second for over half off. Just email me, and I'll send you the coupon code.

These books are not for those of you who only seek deep metaphysical truths and literary genius. They are not for those of you who expect pointless escape or gratuitous sex. They are for the average person with the average life and regular problems who would like some entertainment and might want to gain some perspective in the process. You may recognize the characters, though they are purely fictional. You probably know a housewife or two who has grown disillusioned by the reality of married life and motherhood. You may know a single lady who feels dissatisfied with the track her life has taken. You may know a man who thought he had it all together and woke up one morning to find that his life felt empty. If you know these people, you will recognize my characters because they are ubiquitous in our society. If these characters find fulfillment and answers in a manner less orthodox than yours and mine, I hope you'll take it for what it is: entertainment.

Thanks for taking the time to read my books, and if you like them, share them on Facebook, tweet your friends, and write a review.

In my book, Disarmed, I created a story that is entirely fictional, and perhaps the most unrealistic aspect of the story is the casual way in which I treat the situation with the little Thai waif, Dao. There is a perhaps cheesy happily-ever-after that is unlikely to occur in real life.

In real life, human slavery exists, and in real life, a hero rarely sweeps in to save the day or the girl or boy, and even when he does, the boy or girl or woman needs rehabilitation and placement. This gives them a place to put their trauma and pain, and a place to stay so that they don't reenter the poverty that drove them into trafficking in the first place.

I am privileged to know one of these heroes who, not only sweeps in to save the girl, but places them in rehabilitation and relocation. When I wrote Disarmed, I didn't know that he and his wife and his organization engaged in this effort, but now that I do, I feel like I should highlight his efforts to save these people and give them a future.

Kirby and Brett Trapolino have established a long-standing presence in India, and they have recently branched into Nepal, a natural funnel for trafficking to India. With their organization, Peace Gospel Org, they have rescued many children from poverty in India and Uganda, and they are in the process of educating the people of Nepal on the reality of emigrating to India. They are the "heroes," and they are upstanding, legitimate, sincere people who value human life and seek to make it better.

Dao is cute and funny, but Dao is just a very weak representation of a serious reality.

Help Peace Gospel Org make salvation a reality for the men, women, and children of India, Nepal, Uganda, and other locations by supporting them financially.

Like them on Facebook, or save their Amazon link to your bookmarks and automatically donate 7% of your purchases to
Peace Gospel Org without spending an extra penny.

For those of you paying attention, I have just published the last book in my Dissed trilogy, Disarmed. If you liked Jason in the first two books, come read the last of the Dissed trilogy to find out if he is able to redeem himself. It will take a while before it shows up on the major websites, just like with my other two books, but you can get it now on Smashwords.com if you don't want to wait. Or. it should show up on Kindle by tomorrow, barring some unforeseen strangeness. I'm still looking for reviewers, so email me if you're interested. Enjoy!

Still looking for my first review!
Let me know if you're willing to review it for sure, and I'll send you the book for free for the first ten people who review it. I promise; I won't be offended.
I've gotten some verbal feedback, mostly positive, and the only negative seems to stem more from a style preference than from any particular fault in the book.
That being said, even if you find something negative and want to review the book as such, feel free! I just want your feedback.
Thanks!

So, with the excitement of seeing my books on iBooks and all the other venues, I have to admit that I am a little immature. I couldn't rejoice for long in my excitement because my books were not on Nook or Kindle yet. So, I bypassed the Smashwords system for Kindle and just downloaded the book directly to the Kindle website. Now I just wait with bated breath for the books to appear on Nook, though according to Smashwords distribution literature, the book should have shown up by now. Well, c'est la vie! It'll show up eventually, and I'll be sure to update. For those of you waiting for Kindle, the time is now. Enjoy!

As of today, Disillusioned and Dissatisfied are both available on iBooks through iTunes. To find them, you can click either name in the preceding sentence and from there, you can launch your iTunes. If you prefer to go directly through iTunes, just type in my name (Cari Moore!) and my books will appear under the "Books" section. For anyone who uses Diesel ebooks, Disillusioned and Dissatisfied are now both officially available from their store as well. Oddly enough, Sony only has Dissatisfied, which is the second book, but hurray for small victories, right? Beware, though, on the similar links on the left hand side, "erotica" is listed as a similar type work. NOT TRUE! The book is at most a little titillating, but remember: purely PG to PG-13! I promise. Still waiting for word from Nook and Blio, and Kindle is a long drawn-out process. Easier to use Smashwords for the time being. I will update as soon as I hear anything else. Thanks for reading! Enjoy!

Good news! My first book, Disillusioned, has just gained approval for the Premium level publication at Smashwords, meaning that within the next two weeks, my book will begin showing up on the major websites, including Nook, iBook, and Sony Reader with Kindle soon to follow. I will place updated links to my book on my blog when I receive official confirmation. Thanks for reading!

So, it's like this: about two weeks ago, I had the brilliant idea of putting my books on the Smashwords website as sort of a test run. You know, let a few people read it and critique it so that I can finish my final editing with some fresh eyes. Of course, then my sweet (?) husband posted the link to my book on his Facebook page, and voila! My book is exposed to the general world of my friends, family, and acquaintances! Well, we are going to make the best of the situation.

First of all, I'm going to explain a little bit about my book: it is not a Harlequin romance novel. I promise. Being a woman, I do like a bit of romance in my books, so that is a definite element. It is not, however, steamy or lurid. My idea was to make books with which I could sit in my living room and let my kids read them without blushing (too much.) Therefore, I tried to make them entirely PG-13; a few swear words and some none-too-sultry kisses is the most I have included. Also, the motivator for the first book, and subsequently for the books that followed, stemmed from my desire to make books that gave me hope. Books with redeeming value. So, despite the tag lines, I promise that my books will not leave you disheartened or discouraged. I do realize that the fact will actually drive away some audiences, but, sorry! I am a sucker for a happy ending, and I wrote this at a time when I was in desperate need for some personal inspiration.

Secondly, I promise that the book will be at least mildly interesting, and if you have any desire to help out a fellow American :) I would love your feedback. No need to contact me directly, and no need to worry about my feelings. Write your honest review on
Smashwords. My husband has just increased the size and scope of my test audience, and I intend to make the best of it.

All that being said, I hope you enjoy the book. It was a lot of fun to write, and I think that you'll find some entertainment as well as some life lessons in all three of my books. Don't expect any deep, philosophical literature like you would find in a college English class, but I hope I provided at least some fun, excited reading with a redeeming value. In the end, all the books I have written are about redemption, as will be any book I write in the future, because that is the constant theme of my life.

Okay, so I've noticed some traffic on my Smashwords page, but some of you, I believe, might need some coaxing to take the plunge. In light of that reasoning, I have generated a coupon code for those of you interested enough to visit my blog. For a limited time, with the code, my second book will sell for the price of $0.99. (That's 99 cents for those of you who, like I, prefer to read words of fiction over money symbols.) Just type YB38D at checkout to receive your discounted rate. If you decide to purchase my book, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE write a review. Feel free to include both good and bad feedback, as I would love to hear what you think of Tessa and her misadventures. Remember, I carry on the story of Liset, a supporting character in Disillusioned, in the next installment of the Dissed series, Dissatisfied. I am also putting the final touches on the book Disarmed which redeems my favorite character, Jason, from both of the first two books. So, remember, after you read Disillusioned, purchase Dissatisfied at the discounted rate of 99 cents on Smashbooks.

So, the adventure begins. After writing close to fifty agent query letters, receiving multiple rejections from overworked agents, and growing impatient with the remaining 20ish agents, I have decided to throw off the bonds of Big Books and venture into the anarchy of self-publishing. In light of the fact that eBooks took nearly 10% of the market from their antiquated paper brethren in 2010, it seemed a rational choice to throw my lot in with my new favorite publishing website, Smashwords. Their store makes distribution a cinch. Add to that the quaint little marketing tools of Facebook and Twitter, and I'm thinking it just might be possible to end up with a decent audience for my debut release. The biggest problem with "selling" my book, in my opinion, is the "selling" part. How do I try to convince people to read what I've written without sounding either egotistical or cheesy? Alas. I'm hoping that people will take the promo spots and see through them to the fun and sincerity of my works. I love to write. For me, it's fun, it's therapeutic, and it's thought-provoking. Exactly the reactions I want my books to elicit in their readers as well. I'm in a good place. My life does not depend on the success or failure of these books that I've written. Unlike many, I have too much on my plate that requires my uncompromising attention for my personal happiness to hinge upon acceptance or rejection by the masses. Narcissism is not my goal. Instead, I hope that my readers will draw inspiration from the heart of my books; that they will see that life is about redemption, and that it is available to all. -Cari
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0
